  Minnesota DOT Investing Big in Freight Rail

    New grants target enhancements to agriculture, infrastructure and industrial parks.

    The Minnesota Department of Transportation has funded 11 of the freight rail improvement
    projects statewide, selected from 19 proposals. These grants aim will aim to enhance rail
    infrastructure to boost the states competitiveness in global and national markets. Funded
    projects include new facilities for agriculture, industrial parks and infrastructure upgrades.

  FedEx Freight Shutting Down 7 U.S. Centers

    FedEx Freight will close 7 domestic centers in 2024 as part of network adjustments.

   The closures will affect centers in Illinois, Kentucky, West Virginia, Minnesota, Arizona,
    and Ohio, with some of the employees being offered positions at nearby locations.
    Despite these changes, FedEx Freight's footprint remains significantly larger than it's
    closest competitors in the LTL market.
